Groshans has always had a passion for design and building. At a very young age, he was drawing house plans with the dream of one day building his own home. Throughout high school he immersed himself in courses geared toward building, while working evenings and weekends in his father’s machining and welding company. By the time he was 16, he had graduated to building high-end, custom horse trailers.

In his early 20s, Groshans decided to take a detour, following another boyhood passion of his, becoming a police officer. In 1986, he joined the Kansas City, Mo. Police Department, where he served in many roles, including Tactical Response Teams, Special Operations and Narcotics, to mention a few.  Although he was enjoying an immensely successful and rewarding career, his creative passion continued to grow.  His imagination was constantly at work – sketching ideas, envisioning spaces and dreaming up concepts that inspired those around him. With the total support and encouragement of his family, he made the bold decision to leave behind a stable career to pursue his creative calling.

That decision quickly proved to be the right one. His first home earned the prestigious American Dream Grand Award, setting the tone for a career defined by excellence. Today, hundreds of homes later, Casa Bella Construction remains a consistent grand award winner. Each year they continue to add to their award totals, earning honors such as Pick of the Parade, American Dream Grand Award and the Gold Award for Distinctive Plan and Design contests, along with multiple Model of the Year recognitions from leading new home publications.
